Ebay mesh grille 03 Max need pics

Hey guys.

I'm looking to purchase this mesh grille on ebay for my max: http://www.ebay.com/itm/FOR-NISSAN-0...FV56rE&vxp=mtr

I've done a lot of searching but haven't found anything. Any posted pics were too old and wouldn't open.

Does anyone have pics of their BLACK 02-03 maxima with this grille installed? Just cant decide whether or not it'd look good on my car, and I'd like to see some pics of it on a black max before I decide.

Thanks!

Here's one I put together my self. I was going for a look that cleaned up the front without drawing too much attention by screaming "aftermarket".

It could be done glossy too. I gave the grill a textured finish by spraying from farther back. The mesh is semi-gloss.

Thanks! Yeah I think I'm just gonna mod the stock grille to get the Nissan part out. I just don't like it for some reason

Good looking car man! I like that look with the mesh behind. I'll have to figure something out.

Thanks, That black with the front lip is pretty slick too.

Another thing that looks good on a dark car is to black out the chrome window trim. I always thought it looked awkward and I've been really pleased with the blacked out look. It's not the best pic but I don't have another one handy.

Wow, I like that grille, Derrick! Did you find the mesh components from Home Depot, and how is it fastened? If it's a trade secret, I'll understand.

No secret. It's 6 pieces cut from the gutter mesh from the hardware store. each piece is held by two pieces of thin bailing wire that attach to the bottom of the insert and loop around the back behind the vertical supports. The way they sit allows them to be cinched from the bottom and held tight.

It sounds a little ghetto but I've had the inserts in for about 10 years with no problems. The bailing wire is painted black so you really have to get your face right on it to see.

The material has a top/bottom and a front/back so you have to pay attention cutting it.

It's hard to see in the pic but I did the openings under the bumper too. That's what gave me the idea for the grill. I saw that the AC condenser was getting beat up by rocks and such so I put the mesh in place to protect it. Wasn't even thinking about looks.

Best I got was a 14.1 in the 1/4 with my fully built spec v. I enjoyed the car. I like my maxima more. It's just a nicer car. I think my maxima would run with it too. Haven't had the max at the track.
I lost my ser back in the beginning of 06

Hi Derrick, thanks for the pics and insights.

I have one problem. My Grille has never been removed in her 13.5 years of daily service, so the 3 nuts holding the grille look like they will snap off if cranked. You cant use fire there, so is there a clever way to get the rusty mounting nuts off or am I SOL and need to break them and then just install another grille?

Apply penetrating lube multiple times for a couple days.

As Child_uv_KoRn said, penetrating oil is about all you can do.

The good news is that the bolts are clipped in place and can be replaced if they get messed up. You might be able to get in there and cut them off to avoid breaking the tabs on the grill.

The grill is also held in place by several clips that hold it really well. I just realized that I've been running it without the nuts on it for years now. I left it like that because I was taking it in and out a lot and just never put them back.

Nope, this is an absolute one-off I personally made. Although many take issue with the use of the Nismo badge, it was solely a choice of aesthetics in order to bring the look together. I otherwise oppose such badges when put on the wrong cars.

Here's the final completed grill.

I have since removed it after it was cracked - damage due to a woman pulling out in front of me. I've simply not had time to repair it. I'd sell if someone wants to fix it.
