I went with the Jim Wolfe technology lightened flywheel (15lbs) and 250mm clutch and not a single issue with it either. Smooth and holds well.
I seriously considered going the route you did but my girlfriend convinced me to go the performance route.

My friend, you have a keeper right there

I put the JWT clutch/flywheel combo in my Z. Definitely recommend as well. It might even be the same flywheel since I think there were two timing holes on the flywheel for multiple applications.

Well i was going to go with performance too my mechanic friend who had a maxima asked me if i would be dropping a turbo and doing more than 400whp, i told him not so he said not point on anything performance these parts hold for up to 400hp and are way cheaper! He also said if i went to stage one it would be annoying because as a daily driver they are more annoying to take off with

Pros and cons to both.

I think your mechanic is correct in using OEM equiv for DD since you're not interested in performance modding.

The throttle response from the flywheel and clutch was very noticeable. The driveability hasn't suffered at all. You really can't tell it's lightened other than the quicker throttle response.

cons

Clutch chatter
Bite point is a bit more difficult to find
Lightweight flywheel means you lose momentum?? quicker so rpm and speed goes up and down more than oe,
squeaky clutch pedal

But lots of pros too

Squeaky pedal...you're funny.

Again, his experience confirms the others. Drivability is not affected at all.

Yes there is a little chatter but the rest is unnoticeable. If you didn't drive this car every day before hand and you jumped in it you wouldn't know it was in there

That sums it up perfectly. It's not that the "light weight" flywheels are that light. It's that the stock FW is so heavy and sloppy that it covers up mistakes and bad technique.

The stock FW feels great on a test drive because anyone can hop in and drive it smoothly. Great for selling cars. The downside is that it robs power and precision. If someone learns to drive with the stock FW they'll naturally develop a sloppy, imprecise technique that the average car wont be so forgiving of.
