Help! six codes for 2000 maxima

2000 maxima GLE. replaced muffler, had a hole in it. Check engine light on. Codes are p0500, p0135, p0141, p0155, p0161, p1131. Yes, I am a girl and don't know what to do. A Nissan parts person said to check all vacuum lines for leaks first. do I really need to replace all four 02 sensors and do I have to buy Nissan brand at $800 for all four? The car has 160,000 miles on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Yes, I have searched the forums and for the p0500 I saw to unplug the VSS, it didn't say what else to do. I really don't want to pay more money than the car is worth to get it fixed, but I love my maxima to pieces!!!!!

Does the gages work properly?

P0500- VSS may need to be replaced
P0135 is front o2 sensor related (before precats)
P0141 ir rear sensor related (after perecats)
Some of the codes don't apply to the max you may have got them wrong,

You mentioned you have 4 o2 sensors which lead me to believe your car is Cali spec, you may need to get the precats removed and get headers with o2 sim on the rear two sensors

I have the print out from the garage of the codes. My max is a federal not calif. 02 sensors on my car are (P0135-bank 1, sensor 1) (P0141- bank 1 sensor 2)
(P0155- bank 2 sensor 1) (P0161- bank 2 sensor 2) and the (P1131- swirl control solenoid circuit) That is what the garage gave me.

I think they're trolling you!

Fed spec only has three o2 sensors

P1130 is the scsc

I have to agree with Nestor. If the car is a federal emissions car, it only has 3 oxygen sensors. It does not have the bank 2 sensor 2.

There is no P1131 code in the Nissan listings. There is a P1130 code that is the Swirl Control Valve Control Solenoid Valve, but does not apply to federal emissions cars, only California.

There is something radically wrong with that garage's printout and/or its people. Take the car to an auto parts store (any one you want) and ask them to read the check engine light codes. That is a free service in 49 of the 50 states (it is forbidden by law in California). Have something with you to write the codes down as not all places will give you a printout.
