2001 maxima shutting off
2001 maxima shutting off
Hi guys..I recently bought an 2001 maxima and drove home about 30 miles with no issue... Filled up the tank tank with 89 the next day because it was almost on E then parked it... A day after I'm driving to work and it kept on shutting off.. I got it to turn back on by constantly pressing the gas and revving the engine.. Then it would shut off after I release the gas... It only stays on if I'm revving the engine, once I let go it would shut off and the check engine light or any other light did not come on.. Any reason why you guys think this happens?
Two types of failures have these symptoms: MAF and IACV.
Try disconnecting your MAF (just disconnect the electrical connector). If the car starts and idles, although poorly, with the MAF disconnected, you need to clean or replace your MAF. If not, it's time to check out your IACV. IACV failures are usually associated with P0505 code but sometimes the CEL/code comes on some time after the failure occurs. In either case, be aware that the failure of the IACV often results in ECU damage; this note https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6O...psNVBqUVk/view explains.

idk if I posted this before but my idle valve went bad because the o-ring failed.
Coolant gets in there and fries it. That's why I think o-rings are bull**** for something like that
but that's nissan for you.
