Hi,

I am having a problem with my volume control *** on my stock Bose sound system in my Maxima. Every time I try to turn up the volume it doesn't work or does the opposite and vice versa. How can I fix this?

 

You outta be glad it lasted this long. My Bose did that 10 years ago and then the display went out then only the steering wheel controls worked. It's garbage, I'd look into an affordable replacement if I were you, I regret not getting mine sooner.

 

I'll second that. If you can get 10 years out of a Bose, the gods were smiling on you.

In reality, the volume control potentiometer (the thing you turn) goes bad. You can replace it, people have posted the part number here, but I recommend you replace the head unit because something else will just go bad on you as NmexMAX said.

I have a Kenwood DPX501BT radio that I had put in my 2000 Maxima and then pulled it out when I totalled the car 6 months later. I would consider selling it as a plug & play kit with the PAC ROEM line level adapter, antenna adapter and trim adapter. PM me if you are interested.
