On the straight pipe life
Well at the moment my 01 Maxima is straight piped as I am waiting for my Apexi muffler to go on (nothing after cat). It actually isn't that loud, just a bad drone at certain rpms. Will the new muffler make it much more quiet? I just don't want the drone the noise level is nice as it sits. Just shows ya how quiet of an engine the vq30 is. I will post a sound clip when the mufflers on!
If you have headers or even a y-pipe then it might be noticeable, but I'm assuming you don't because headers and straight pipe =
Nearly unbearable. So, you should be fine. When i did a tiny straight muffler, removed my cat, and resonator, my 3.0 was quiet as all hell, then I added a y-pipe, and yeah, that changed.
