Disinfecting A/C

Our cars are up there in age so the evaporator core probably has a nice coating of gunk and mold. What do you guys use to disinfect the A/C system? I saw some chemicals available that you spray into the drain tube and intake cowl. Can't Lysol disinfectant accomplish the same thing?

We use this at the shop. It's specifically designed for cars AC systems.

I just use Lysol in the air intake under the outside of the windshield. Works fine for me. Just don't go for a ride for an hour or so, to avoid inhaling it.

I was doing some maintenance on a customers i30 and to my surprise it looked like there hadn't been a cabin filter there the whole life of the car, needless to say I convinced them to let me discharge the system and remove the core to pressure wash it! No amounts of snake oil was gonna get the shvt off!!!

I got this ozone machine.

I used it in my work car it really smelled bad.
Like sweat, mildew, old food.
Smells fresh now.
Used it in my bathroom. Worked, no more bathroom smell.

I used it in my moms car she said it smells clean now.
Even today I'm using it in my maxima even thought I don't think it stinks,
maybe not the freshest, but we'll see if it worked when I go to work tomorrow.

btw I tried the lysol thing and it didn't work at all in my dirty disgusting work car or
my moms car where she left some protein drink in there 5 weeks she was
on vacation. Reeked like death in that thing pure rot from that drink.

This happened to me too! I had the heat on and it just felt gross and choking, come to find out I had absolutely no cabin filter. I slapped some carbon based filters in and now it smells soo clean in my car.

Mine didn't come with a filter either.
I recommend blowing it out with compressed air.

This doesn't come close to the amount of crap between the fins on the i30 ! Just imagine the whole thing covered
