HID Headlight issue

Hi,

On Sunday night, the passenger light did not come on. Figured that it was the bulb so I ordered new ones to replace with.

Today, turned on headlights, and both came on. Then when I parked the car, I turned it off and then on, but it would not come on. Switched it on and off 3 times, and it came on again.

What could that be? The driver's side doesn't have any issues so far.

Any insight is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

If it's not the bulb, it's probably the ballast.

I am able to get them for about $6 at the local junkyard, so you might try them out first.

Also, you can swap ballasts side to side and see if the problem follows.

Free test: Swap bulbs between the headlights and see if the problem moves to the other side. Is so, order new bulbs. If not, bad ballast.

Thank you!

Is it easy to remove and replace the bulbs and/or ballasts (first time doing so)?

Is there a guide that you would recommend?

Thanks again!

Most likely ballast. Once a bulb goes out, it's out.

Hi,

Thanks for all your input!

I bought bulbs just in case, but I'm not sure if they are the bulbs.

So I just came back from a short ride with a stop in between. Before I left, I pressed on some of the wiring around, open up the cap and placed it back. Both lights came on fine. Parked, came back, and it was ok. Before parking at home, turned off and on several times, and was working fine. No flickering issues as other have mentioned.

Could this still be ballast? Could it be wiring?

Thanks!
