Need some help

Hey guys!

My exhaust is doing something weird... My car can be idling fine, but the exhaust from the rear of the car sounds like the car is struggling to stay on. Car is throwing a code P0300 ( random misfire) and P0057 ( which I know is the 02 sensor). I just don't want to drop money replacing a cat, 02 sensor etc. without seeing if anyone has experienced this issue before.

Thanks!

The P0300 is your problem. The engine sounds like it is struggling because it is. There are multiple causes for the P0300, from needing new ignition coils to the crankshaft sensor, fuel injectors and more.

Here are causes from the 2001 FSM:

Improper spark plug
Insufficient compression
Incorrect fuel pressure
The injector circuit is open or shorted
Injectors
Intake air leak
The ignition secondary circuit is open or shorted
Lack of fuel
Drive plate or flywheel
Heated oxygen sensor 1 (front)
