misfire in intake

Hi Guys,
Im New to the forum and in ireland and hope i can get some help Im having a problem with a 2001 maxima QX its a VQ 2.0L it uses the same control systems as the usa maxima. To get to the point the car idles fine but if i rev at all it backfires in the intake and gives off rotten egg smell.ive tested coil packs and they are fine I do think plugs are kaput so ill be changing them.Ive only recently bought the car so Im not that familiar with it I took it for a spin earlier and it kept surgig and losing power. Its like la learner driving a manual for the first time but it struggles to reach 20mph,oh and the coolaant temperature sensor is reading -40 c when its 15 c outside Ive Checked the Idle air and its spotless.
Cheers Dar

That's nothing a pipe can't fix while being rammed through the cat.

If you took that coolant temp reading from an obd2 port then the sensor has to be changed. Check the wires on the coolant temp sensor to see if they are damaged
