Exhaust

Hey I just bought a 2002 6speed but the exhaust from the cat to the muffler is about gone can someone recommend me a resonator and muffler that is pretty good performance wise and not to loud, and not to high on price either thanks!

For slight performance gains and stock sound I've had success with a combination of warpspeed y pipe, with walker resonator and walker quiet flow muffler. A slightly deeper sound and performance from wider diameter y pipe, but quiet enough for a daily driver.

Honestly if your looking for performance gains but a quiet exhaust note just go with a set of quality headers & Y pipe and then run a stock cat back. The sound will be deeper and more aggressive than 100% stock at WOT but nearly stock sounding at cruise speeds and at idle. The power gains from a muffler/catback alone are very minimal so the biggest thing you get from going aftermarket in that area is sound/noise. The power gains come from the headers and Y pipe. I'm currently running a custom 3" exhaust back to a Vibrant street power muffler and it sounds good but is loud, especially above 5k RPM. If this was a daily driver I would have just used a good stock muffler/catback for sure. The difference between a stock B pipe/muffler and my current 3" pipe to the Vibrant muffler was hardly noticeable. My air/fuel didn't change at all between the two so I didn't have to tweak my tune which already led me to believe any power gains would be minimal, but after putting it back on the dyno this was confirmed. No matter what changes I made in the tune, I saw no more than 3-4 whp difference from the catback alone. So again, choose based off of the sound characteristics you like and don't worry about trying to get max power gains from X exhaust vs Y exhaust because the gains are minimal regardless.
