How long do the factory t-stats usually go? Do they fail stuck-open?

No telling. Forever or whenever. Stats can fail either way.

My factory Accord t-stat is still rockin & rollin @200K. Just wondering if Nissan units are known to go a while. Of course, a lot is contingent upon proper cooling system maintenance.

It's nothing to actively worry about... but the temp gauge is mostly a dummy gauge, so by the time it starts to increase, it means it's overheating. Anything higher than the normal position and I would stop driving it.

currently at 206K miles and my car started to overheat at 204K, replaced the thermostat, radiator, and water pump. Ruled everthing out and replaced thermostat first because it was cheap and easy to do, one instance where a dealer part is less than the part stores.
