What's the fuss about the FrankenCar intake?

I see it on a lot of people's sigs and checked the website out...it basically looks like a nicer Stealen intake?

Anyone know the gains vs. Stealen or other brands?

Is it really worth $140?

Just trying to keep an update on all these new products.

There are posted dynos on the website for the 2k2, just waiting for the posted dynos for the 2k1. It did test better than $tealin if I recall correctly, but on different machines...I think.

I have ordered one myself to check out the hype anyway (I currently have no intake, just stock box so it would be a positive move anyway). It looks better (to me,opinion) and I help someone on the board vs supporting big business.

Personal opinion plus the ongoing debate of CAI vs HAI. Plus you replace some of the stock stuff with a smoother pipe. Does it give you gains? I guess only a dyno will give you hard black and white numbers to judge by.

When ya doing this? Have you got yours (FC) yet? Do you have a "stock" dyno?

Just looked back, three questions in a row...feel newbie like!

I'm dynoing my 2k2 6spd this weekend. Going from Frankencar to stock and hopefully dyno once again with FC, just to ensure there is no weird ECU 'learning' needed. Steve's dyno was done stock to FC. I will post my runs once that is done.

BTW, it is a good quality unit and worth the money IMO. Don't forget to consider the Berk as well. I haven't seen any dynos and don't know anything about it, other than it's made of aluminum. Just be sure to look at everything.

"haven't thought about that yet, i'm gonna run a group deal on the .org. since 99% of my business if from you guys if i gave a discount i would give almost everyone one. i'll think of something for you guys."

Just another reason why we would rather support an org member rather then Stillen.

I haven't received the FC intake yet. I can dyno anytime I just need the FC. I will dyno stillen pop then FC back to back. I won't be reinstalling my stock intake. Just gotta get the FC..

I am waiting too. I was hoping to see stock numbers against FC numbers on a 2K1....
