Floor Jack Stuck in Up Position
Hello,
I attempted doing my front brakes today - and finished. However, I am unable to lower the car down. My floor jack (SunexHD Model 66037) is stuck up in the air, and will not lower the car down.
At the moment, I have the tires on (I wanted to take it out for a drive) to test the brakes.
Any ideas -- the tech support department for the Jack is closed.
-- Is it ok to leave the car suspended in the air as it is now (the tires are on) ?
I will appreciate some assistance.
thanks - MN

yeah, I thought about it -- I will have to go buy and return it, if the stores allow it.
Alternatively, I think the handle locks onto the a hex nut, which needs to be turned clockwise to lock and pump it up, and counter-clockwise to lower. If i can find the size of that nut, I can possibly get an adapter to turn it counter clockwise. I am going through the service manual to see if it would give me an idea.

I DID IT ....i turned the hex screw counter clockwise and the car just dropped -- not slowly, but at least, it is now down. I will take it for a test drive and then worry about the jack -- maybe return it for a different one.
