Engine rebuild?

Any 5th gen Maxima owners have ever rebuilt their engines? The FAA requires aircraft engines to be overhauled every 2000 hours. As a result, there are thousands of 40 and 50 year old aircraft still flying.

We're the original owners of a 2000 SE with 143,000 miles and still running strong, other than routine stuff. Although the new Maxi's are gorgeous, that kind of money is not appealing at this stage.

Just curious on the forum's thoughts and experiences on this.

im sure , search a around more than 5 mins and you may find a lot, most likely rebuilt for some kinda other percs tho like performonce mods and NA

people typ replace w newer engines from 6th gen though instead of extensive rebuilds

Normally 143,000 isn't enough to need a rebuild
but then the vq35 is a pile of oil burning crap, but then you have a vq30.

I haven't rebuilt a vq but it's all the same. It's super EZ. and if nothing is broken it's about 300 bux if that
for a mint refreshed engine. I think it was like $120 to get my head rebuilt and a cam put in 3 angle cut valves and head shaved on the bmw.

You have pretty low mileage, I think you are good. My signature has my mileage, and that is on the original engine and transmission (which had periods of great neglect).

In relation the aircrafts, not sure about in the south (Seeing as your in florida, this probably doesn't apply to you) but up north the Maximas bodies tend to go before the motor and transmission.

So I mean if it's not too expensive then sure, but the 3.0 VQ is bulletproof. Maybe set a 250,000 or 300,000 mile goal before a rebuild.

It does seem like its military grade.
