I hope you figured out that you don't need the relay, because there is already one built in by Nissan.

thanks for the reply. yes...they are already hooked up without the relay. I was just wondering if I install the relay would it be louder.

Installing another relay would not make any difference to how loud the horn is. The loudness is determined by the design of the horn, the resistance of the coil, how many times it energizes and releases and the shape of the horn body that resonates the sound.

yeah...i read something about voltage drop. since I have the relay and the wires I'll go ahead and install it to see if it makes a difference. I've read where some say it does and some says it doesn't.

I have installed Hella horns on my 3rd, 4th and 5th gen maximas as well as my 2 lexus cars. You are just giving yourself practice in installing a relay.

The only reason a relay would be needed is when the switch that operates said device cannot handle the amperage needed. And Nissan has a relay in the horn circuit for just this reason. I had 4 Hella horns on my 5th gen for a while and they worked just fine without any additional relay and wiring.

That damn photobucket wants $100 a year for me to be able to display photos that I have stored there! Photobucket can kiss my bucket.
