A/C and RPM surge problem.

Today I had the air condition on and was idling at Wendy's for quite a while (around 10-20 minutes for two people...) when I went to put the car in park my rpms shot up quickly to around 3k before I put it back into drive. This problem only happens when the air condition is on.

I figured this problem would of been fixed when I replaced the MAF sensor, but it hasn't been. Any ideas what this issue could be?

Will it happen regardless of whether the car is hot or cold?

It seems to happen only when it gets hot. I had the air on earlier while driving but no issues until i sat and idled for a while.

Sub. I have a similar issue although mine is intermittent. Shifting gears(auto) and or turning the car off and on usually fixes it for me.

That usually fixes it for me also, which makes no sense imo
