Extended wheel studs?

So I got some new wheels but the hub on it is a little thicker than the stock wheels therefore my stock studs don't stick through as far. I'm able to get between 6 to 6.5 turns before it's tight. Is that sufficient or should I go ahead and get extended studs?

Get extended studs. Its added peace of mind and safety plus they look good with a nice set of lug nuts.

I would get extended studs from 2J Racing or TDMI.

Has anyone used the extended wheel studs from Amazon or Ebay? I think the brands are OBX or V-Project Innovation. They're inexpensive. Or ARP?

Go with the arp studs I linked. The whole point of getting extended studs is safety why cheap out when the cost difference is so minimal?

I looked that the ARP's but I think they're a little too long at 3" for my lug nuts. I saw some 2" ones from Ichiba. Has anyone had any experience with that brand?

Well I emailed Carid.com from where I bought the wheels explaining my concern about the stud lengths and they're sending me free extended studs...how about that? I feel like I won the lottery

i got a sheet from spacer supplier once w a note talking about 7 turns as well IIRC,

i went through all this before and rode a summer or two with 5mm spacers and no hub ring and no extended spacers... and didnt have any issues at all except peace of mind.

next summer or so i changed that and now i have 10mm spacers (w hub ring) and matching extended studs

yes I have ICHIBA on my rears (20 mm ) and i think the other key term is 14mm Knurl

ICHIBAs are ok, but i remember one getting a little rough around the threads, has been ok but there is a rough spot in the middle of the threads.

Well I guess they're not sending me extended wheel studs. They claim that a minimum of 5 turns is safe...wtf?!

I would want more than 6 turns. It's probably fine if they're torqued properly. I don't think it'll be dangerous going down the road.

The problem is there could be more chance of stripping them out when torquing them some time in the future. Especially if someone hits them with an air impact.
