2002 Max 6 speed - RIP

End of an era, 2002 157K, rare 6 speed, death by left turn failure to yield.

Young driver cut in front of me in the rain today, I had no where to go. First accident I've been in with air bags. Interesting. No one hurt, two cars totaled, one minivan in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Ah well, it's just stuff.

I'll miss her...

Yea, Atlanta has this "right turn yields" rot that some dumbass in the DOT came up with to improve traffic. I'm going to make it my mission to find this SOB and beat him.

The scary part? The next car has to be drivable by wife and teenage daughter. Wife can drive a stick, teens these days less so. Have to get something a little more universal. Sigh, I won't drive a minivan

The family problem can be solved by getting an auto 2002.

Sad to see another well maintained Maxima bite the dust. But you are OK.

Take a look at a Lexus IS350. Fast little suckers, but no manual trans.

proph - amen to that. it's just annoying as all to have to deal with it. Airbag hit me in the face (what it's supposed to do), now my jaw is popping like rice crispies and my teeth on the left side are super sensitive. Just about damn near impossible to get anyone to look at it without waiting a month.

Was talking to the adjuster yesterday. She asked if I thought the car was totaled. Ah, yeah. Then when they went to get it, the water pump fell out of the engine. Gives you an idea how hard I hit the older F150 (thing has real steel in it).

Funny, we used to have a Quest - before another teenage daughter killed it (not her fault), the other driver - an older woman thought it was pretty funny.

Yeah an auto Max may be on my list, but I don't want that same engine... tired of feeding it oil all the time.

Cgilley,
First of all glad you are at the keyboard alive to tell the tale. Unfortunately it brings great pain to see the last of the Mohicans perish. In my opinion the 5th gen was the last Maxima. RIP to Cgilley's 2k2 6MT.

It's sad.
