Did the previous owner cut the wire harness connectors off and splice directly into the Nissan wire harness? Or is there an adapter?

The Sony radio came with a short 6 inch (?) harness that plugs into the radio. Then most people get an adapter from Metra or Scoche that will plug into the Nissan wire harness. Then you solder the 2 adapters together.

So I need more info on what you have. I also need to know what the year and model of the car is because there were 2 different radio systems used. If you can post a photo of the car wiring that the radio connects to, that would be helpful.

At least you gave me the year of the car. That's one third of the information I need. What I also need to know (which is much more important) is what kind of radio system the car had originally.

Look in the trunk on the bottom of the parcel shelf. If the car was built with the Bose radio, there will be a speaker in the center of the parcel shelf and between the speaker and the passenger side there will be an amplifier module. If the car did not have the Bose, there won't be anything mounted to the bottom of the parcel shelf.

I am going to assume a non-Bose car. If this is incorrect DO NOT follow the below instructions.

The first thing you want to do is verify that the wire colors of the Sony harness match what is listed below. If there is a difference, let me know

Code:
2000 Radio Wiring
Sony to Non-Bose
                                        Non-Bose,
