Fuel sender or gauge?

So I found out the hard way this morning that my fuel gauge isn't accurate. I just did the unified meter diagnosis and my fuel gauge appears to come up a bit shy of indicated by the FSM. Does this seem problematic?

Currently, I am suspecting the sender. This was the fuel the car came with when I bought it, I've not filled it up yet so I don't know if the gauge ever goes all the way full, will find out tonight.

I believe it's more common for the cluster to be the problem, I would try replacing that first.

I dug into the cluster to try and figure out why the gauge was off. All the resistors to the fuel level sensor checked out OK but apparently the joints to the board can crack causing intermittent or permanent problems. Re-soldering the joints on the 4 resistors should solve the problem of the fuel gauge reading too high.

The resistors are R4, R64, R124, and R125. They are directly below the cluster part number in the attached picture

This is great information, but people need to know that Nissan used different printed circuit boards for the instrument cluster, so not all cars are the same as yours.
