How to Test Electronic EGR Valve - FSM Factory Service Manual info needed
After about 1999, our V6s came with an electronically controlled Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve (EGR). I have mine out of the car.
I'm looking for instructions on how to test the electric motor that's in the EGR valve when the valve assembly is out of the car. There must be a way to apply power to the pins to see if the motor turns the valve.
Would someone with access to a FSM (Factory Service Manual) tell me how to apply power to the pins to see if the electric motor is working to turn the valve?
Thank you!
PS, I have a 2000 Infiniti I30, which should have the same EGR as 2000/2001 3-litre Maximas. This EGR does not use engine vacuum. It uses a stepper motor to open and close the EGR. The EGR has a 6-pin pinout.

Since the op has an Infiniti, I would suggest he go to the Infinity section. Maybe there is a difference.
