Hello all..
I have a 2003 maxima....174K starts fine cold...but when i drive for awhile and shut it off..try to start it ...get nothing ...or sometimes it will turn over once like the battery is dead...wait for a couple hours starts up fine again.

Any answer would be excellent

 

even though you problem is intermittent, the possible causes are the same as if it never starts.

Personally, I suspect the starter itself, but that is not a guarantee. You could have a bad battery cable (pos or neg) where the wire going into the battery post clamp is corroded.

It can be a myriad of things. Did it ever die on you while driving/idling? Any codes?
