Nissan nats security issue
Nissan nats security issue
I had to have my car rekeyed it cost me about $100 and then the car work for half a day maybe four or five times and then shut down and I had to have my car towed home. I went home and got my OBD2 reader and it red p1615 and p1615 which are Nats codes. This nice gentleman from keys for Less came out and reprogram to my key again because of the issue and to no avail and my car shut down it's because of the security mechanisms within the car I don't know what to do I don't I don't have $700 to go to the dealer anybody got me freaking ideas? Why did you re-key the car? Lose keys? If you still the orginal key, you just need to cut the chip out of the key and glue it right next to the ignition.
Where did you get $700 from? Dealers usually charge about $250 to #300 to reprogram keys/NATS. Plus the cost of a tow, but you should have AAA for that.

P1615 = NVIS Difference of Key.
It could be a programming problem, but it could be a failure of the NATS hardware. Maybe the small transmitter chip in the key is weak and the antenna module can't detect it. Maybe the antenna module is bad. There are also other possibilities.

I just got a key reprogrammed for $89. They do all keys and a system check. The key itself cost me $30. I did this at the dealership. So really I don't understand why you guys have the prices you mention. Am I missing something?
Cough Nissan datascan 2 and generic dumb cable (datascan website will tell you which one I don't remember and you will have to go to their site anyways. It's like consult 2. Not as advanced. But I can reprogram my 2k 5 speed and 2k1 gle to new keys, relearn idle, advance timing 2 degrees, monitor any sensor on the cars live, clear engine codes, and it even has a wide and 02 reading option in case you decide to whistle or whine... Cough.
