Cleaning under the car & found this hose hanging what is it could it be Dangerous
Hello Everyone
I was washing the car and under it and i saw this Hose just hanging their. ?
It looks like a gas line or maybe a sensor But i did a fault test and the fuel pressure doesn't give a reading or is this some type crap that the car doesn't need.I looked it up online for a fuel line.
But nothing comes up
Does it hook up to that box and or manifold that's in front of the box
Many Thanks Austin
P.S. I know I'm a newbie and perhaps i shouldn't bug you all so much

that is the EVAP vent . The white plastic end is suppose to just clip in a hole in the bumper area around there.
If you lay under there, and look up, you will see a hole that size, in the metal body . That faces the plastic bumper. In the other side there should also be a plastic little box.
This is put in there and not just left under the car, because if left under the car you could smell gas fumes.

I have been going nuts trying to find a diagram of the underneath the back and i must of looked at a few hundred pages to find anything similar to the hose. then i just stopped. I'll crawl under the car in a bit
Many Thanks i really appreciate it ;-) . Its a relief now to know its not a serious fix
Also i do notice a exhaust smell if the car door is open while the cars running, So i hope that fix's the smell

Engine vacuum is used to suck outside air through that dangling tube, through the EVAP canister and into the intake manifold. That round plastic thing is a small air filter. You should not smell gas fumes under normal conditions.
Smelling exhaust fumes when the door is open may happen if you are in a closed area like a garage or the wind is blowing from the rear of the car. Having an exhaust leak would add to the probabilities, but you should hear an exhaust leak.
