2001 SE California to 2000 federal engine swap

I have a daily driver 2001 SE egr-less (California emission I THINK) and I just bought a 2000 with and egr. The underhood look different including the presence of a boost sensor (on intake before the air filter) on the 2000, and a small valve on the throttle body. I plan on swapping the 2000 motor into my 2001 body because my 2001 motor is dying. Can anyone please advise what all I need to swap. Do I need to swap the entire wiring harness, or can I just swap the motor itself and keep the 2001 intake and exhaust manifolds? Swapping the ECU as well, or not necessary? I have searched and searched for the answers, but I can not find any clues. I really don't want to resort to the FSM. Can anyone help me out?

You need to retain anything emission related to the car. Disregard how the donor engine is equipped.

All sensors, manifolds, ecu and wiring should be from the 2001 car, not the 2000 engine. Basically you are using the long block only.

Get the old motor out, then look at what on the old motor,needs to be swapped to the newer motor. No ecu or wire harness change. it's the same motor with a couple extra sensors . just don't use the new TB or egr setup.

The crank sensors maybe set up differently at the ECU. Heres a link to a pinout cheatsheet.

You don't do anything except plug EGR.

And how can you kill a 3.0? Precats are probably just clogged.
