2007 Sentra Trans Swap???

Hey Gang,

Will the internals of a 2007 Sentra Spec-V (6spd manual) swap into the bell housing of 5.5gen 6spd? Also, anyone know for sure what year Spec-Vs will?

Thanks!

To my knowledge it's any 6 speed spec v sentra that fits the maxima bellhousing, BUT iirc you want the '04+ due to better syncros

~Don't a few of the newer Maxima 6 speeds have HLSD and upgraded syncros?
Easier and cheaper swap if so..

Thx Fakie. For some reason I thought only '03-05 internals worked. As far as newer Maxima's w/ HLSD, I believe they do have the better syncros, but only a few had LSD and 6spd Maxima trans are 3x the price. We already have a spare "open diff" for the swap.

Gotta also look out for final drive ratios. I think after 06' the sentras went to 4.4 which is a bit extreme for a maxima. Earlier ones were 4.1, which is nice compared to the maxima's stock 3.8. That being said, IIRC youll want 04-06 if you plan on doing any highway driving with the car. Its been a while since i looked this crap up though so you should probably double check, the info is out there on another forum i just cant remember what i typed into google to find it.

Edit: 5 mins of google is throwing me all sorts of answers. All i can factually tell you is that the final drive ratios are different throughout the years, make sure you do your homework lol.

Great info! Actually, the shorter final drive would be awesome. It's for our Endurance Race car so right now we rarely get into 6th, but it's a bog when we do. Thx
