03 maxima
I’ve heard that I can get a spec v trans & swap the gear set & lsd to my 03 bell housing. Is there any pros & cons with this swap? Considering that the spec v trans is way cheaper than the maxima lsd trans

Gearing is much shorter, so hwy fuel economy will suffer a lot.

Pros and cons........ depends on what you value really. SpecV's have 4.1 final drive whereas maximas are 3.8. So yes your hwy mileage will decrease a little but unless you're doing a lot of hwy driving idk how much it's really gonna drop. Some people like the shorter gears, others don't.
The biggest pro is that the specV trans is stronger than the maxima trans. Many people use it with a FI setup. Also if your maxima doesn't already have hlsd, you're getting that too which is a big plus.
If you're really concerned about the highway mileage, you could swap out the 6th gear. That's usually outside of most people's ability and budget though.

Yes you can do that swap - specV trans into a max bell housing and you're off and running.

http://car-part.com is a great source to find parts in salvage yards all over the country. I just looked and there's a bunch of them out there. Freight shipping can actually be pretty reasonable. You can choose the country and look at Canada to see a few more too. I got mine out of Canada and freight was very reasonable even to Florida.
They also search interchangeable parts so just put in a 2004 Maxima and it'll show them for all the 6th gen years.
