I prefer my armrest up. I am not short at all but it just seems to feel perfect with the rest up so i can rest my forearm and hand on it.
How about you guys??

down!

...unless I have a tall bottle in the cup holder. In that case it goes up so my arm goes over the bottle without touching it.

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to poll this!!!

Up! It just doesn't feel right when it's down. Maybe its because my last car was a 5 speed, and I rested my elbow on the center console to shift.

i like it down... its at the perfect height to keep my arm on it and my hand on the shifter... i like driving that way even though its an auto...

but i hate it when my elbow accidently hits the button thing to make it go up... that sucks...

happends to anyone else?

You've just hit on my major gripe about the interior. I could do without an armrest completely, as it's just in my way and it's as noisy as the A-pillar rattles.

I wish I could just remove the whole thing, storage compartment and all.

Up. I have an auto. It seems like it would be difficult to shift a manual if it were up.

As for it rattling, mine rattled, too, when I had CD's and change in there. It was the contents and not the arm rest.

Up and down. When I'm in a crusisng relax stage, the armrest goes up, but when I'm driving fast I have it down, cuz it gets in the way. heheheh It's not like I do any shifting since I have an auto, but it stays down when I'm going fast.

Down, don't really like it that much either. It took me a month to realize that that part of the armrest flips up seperately for additional storage. Its where I head the weed. J/K.

Down, because mine seems to have become unlockable and falls with the greatest of ease. No bother though.

up

It seems to a perfect height, both to rest my arm and to have it in position for shifting.

With my wife's automatic, it seems simpler to keep it down.

I too have trained my elbow not to hit the button anymore, at first I thought that would get real annoying but it never seems to happen anymore. I only put it up when i'm cruising on the highway for a long time and don't have to shift.

UP

I am average height and my arm is MUCH more comfortable with it up (I have an auto). I think it's great although I agree that the contents inside rattle a lot. Oh, well - I'll just put more CD;s in to keep them from moving around.
