Clutch Bleeding issues
Hello and yes I am a newbie!! Just picked up a 2000 Maxima SE with a 5 speed for $600 with a bad trans, no first or second. Picked a used trans with 92k in good working order. New master and new slave to put in. Got new trans in and all hooked up, master in and all lines connected. Master cylinder is not bleeding and cannot get slave to engage. I have tried all different types of methods and still nothing, what am I missing........

Did you try bleeding with a vacuum pump? Also the stock hydraulic lines are utterly retarded and difficult to bleed. You need to bleed the lines from the top IIRC (on the driver side strut tower) because air bubbles naturally gravitate upwards. Your best bet, however, is to simply replace those hardlines with a stainless steel braided line, its one single hose from master to slave that eliminates the overly complex lines currently on your car.

Yes I did try with a vacuum pump, also the factory lines are gone and it has a modified steel line to rubber line that is a lot shorter than the OE. The stainless steel line is on my list of things to get

Did you bench bleed the master? Im pretty sure thats required if youre replacing it. Details on that are kinda fuzzy because ive never done that myself but I know its a thing if your master gets air in it - which it has since it came out of a box recently lol

I benched it by hand, probably not 100% correct but it did push fluid out. I just talked with a Nissan guy and he mentioned to leave clutch pedal about
half way and let it gravity bleed that way until you get fluid, then finish with proper bleed. Gonna try that tonite
