Fuel Pump Recommendation?

2001 Maxima, 200k

Just a quick question--I'm going to change the filter in the tank, but I have to pull out the entire fuel pump assembly. I don't want to pay the absurd cost the dealer wants to charge.

QUESTIONS:
1. Do these fuel pumps last well past 200k, or is it a good idea to change it while I have the filter out?

2. What brands and models do you recommend for FACTORY spec replacements (not higher flow or anything like that)?

Haven't decided if I'm going to change the pump yet or not. I hate changing parts that aren't broken. Heck, it could've been changed right before I bought the car and has an OEM pump in it for all I know. I've only had it since 167k.

They are so simple to change why are you considering it now?

Nissan, Hitachi, or Denso for everything.

Because I have to change the filter. Figured I might want to change the pump, too. But if they're really simple, then I won't worry about it until it goes out, probably. They're expensive.

Never had to replace one in over 20 years of owning maxima's. owned two for over 10 years.

I would just leave them alone, things like that tend to last the life of the vehicle.

They are easy even though I have never had to change one in almost 500,000 on two 5th gens. I've pulled them out before.

Alright, I'll leave it alone then and just change the filter.

Thanks!
