Car can’t make up its mind on what it wants to do.

So I have a 2003 maxima 6 speed. 230k on the body 80k on motor. First started about a month ago. Was driving right by my house maybe a mile after I left my driveway and the car severely died in power. Almost felt as one of my timing chains snapped, than all of a sudden boom back to normal. About half mile after this same thing then back to normal. Did this in quicker intervals then it just died and won’t start. Walked home and got my father to go tow it. Maybe an hour later. Car didn’t start. He towed me back. Car started in my driveway like nothing happened. Haven’t had a problem until right now. Randomly on the highway about a month later. Car just runs heavy and shut off within five seconds. I have zero codes and no pending codes. I have no idea what it is but it’s so random. I read things about the crankshaft positions sensors could be bad. Everything I read is about cars constantly running like crap when mines just running fine for months the it’s happens again and I’m stuck. What do you guys think?

Check all the grounds.
Primarily:
- the 2 on top of the engine on the timing chain case
- the main battery ground which bolts to the metal coolant passage between the 2 banks

Check harness connections too for loose connections. Sucks that you don't have any codes to narrow things down at all.

one thing you can try it's like 10 bux at the dealer there's a resister in the harness near the front of the engine
i forget what it's called but some for some people that goes bad.

Ignition Condenser.

Do a thorough harness and electrical connection inspection. You say not original motor, so God knows what's going on. Does sound like intermittent electrical failure.
