2000 & 2001 Intake Manifold Difference?

I read somewhere that Nissan changed the 2001 Maxima's intake manifold to a more complicated design than the 2000, and it caused reliability problems and was a lot more of a pain to remove. Is that correct? Because the upper intake manifold on this 2000 I bought recently looks just like my 2001.

Anyone have any info on this?

Thanks so much.

I have a 5sp manual, so I shouldn't have an EGR valve anyway.

I wonder what they changed that made the 2001 less reliable.

Here's the things that are junk on 5 th gen maximas.

One the 5 speed manual ,a carryover from 95-99 with minor enhancements. Junk they last about 100k before going bad.

Second the IACV gets coolant in the stepper motor and fries the IACV and ECU. This is why most are in junkyards. ( This problem is on I30's ,G20,pathfinder,QX4 and so on)

And the third bad design is the radiator support. Also a carryover from 95-99 . This puts many in the scrap yard from 95-03.

Yeah, I fixed the IACV issue on my old Maxima but haven't yet on this Maxima, so I plan to swap all of those parts out soon.

Is there any thing that can be done about the radiator mounts?

I didn't have a problem with the manual transmission on my last one. Maybe I'll get lucky on this one, too.

you can weld and fabricate a custom heavy duty rad support, or just replace entire rad support as needed.

Thanks. My last Maxima didn't have any radiator support issues up to 216k miles, so hopefully this one won't either.
