Transmission woes

I'll try to keep this short... 2001 SE 5sp
Tranny long had an input shaft bearing that was noisy. Drove it for a couple years (I know.. awful.) First gear was increasingly popping out of gear until finally it would not engage at all. I pulled the tranny and took it to a reputable local rebuild joint. He replaced synchros all seals and bearings.. it took me a while with the holidays to put it in but finally did. At the time I was also doing the upper oil pan so it took awhile to finish it all. Also replaced clutch components and flywheel friction surface.

Fast forward to about two weeks ago.. finally went to install the odds and ends that were left. The slave was awful to get put back on for whatever reason, even with a new bellhousing clip so it was aligned perfect. Gears seemed hard to get into even off which I figured the shift bar just needed adjusting.

When I finally got the car started it was impossible to get into any gear and upon letting off the clutch completely there was almost a chatter/grinding that was pretty loud.

I worked on adjusting the pedal and now I can get into reverse, but it's not at all moving full speed (it's on stands). I tried starting in second and it made a strange noise so I killed it. It may be adjusted way off now because itll go into reverse without the pedal.

I'm at a loss with this thing. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Yeah those transmission need a Expert not a regular shop to rebuild. Did he buy all new stuff?

99% of trans rebuild shops are no good.

All of these 5 speeds are bad. It's a failed design.
