Bought these headlights. What else do I need to install them?

My son bought these headlights without realizing that we had HIDs. Is there a harness or adapter that will make these work, or should we just return them?

We have 2002 nissan maxima gle

Part of the description mentions this: Fits: 2002-2003 Maxima (DO NOT FIT STOCK HID HEADLIGHTS) That could relate to the HID bulb not being able to fit in the housing OR the fact these do not come with HID ballasts. If it's solely the latter, you would simply need an HID conversion kit so HID bulbs will work with these. It may take some modifying to the housing in order to make it work. Are you looking to do the work yourself, or take it to a shop?

Preferably we'd like to do it ourselves, but we aren't comfortable cutting anything. We may run it by a shop to see what they say. We had a guy pop up on Facebook saying that he we needed a harness and bulbs. He said he'd charge 75$ for the harness, but I'm leary about sending money to anyone unless it can be confirmed

I'm not that savvy in this arena either, but the harness and bulbs you may be able to find through amazon or ebay and figure out a general price point that way. The bulbs for the low beams/ HIDs are: HID-D2R or HID-D2R HID Upgrade Kit (found on my4dsc.com) which run anywhere from $30-$50 for the pair, and around the same for the harnesses. Putting all that together to make it work is where I fall short lol. Post this in the lighting section in this forum as those who frequent those forums may chime in more quickly. However if you're not entirely sure on how to attack this, I would take it to a reputable shop and have them perform the work. It would be a shame to buy the headlights, harnesses, bulbs, and then it all goes to moot. Good luck!

just return them, its going to be headaches for you. if you are not into cutting anything, im not sure you should upgrade your headlights at all, or if you have to upgrade get headlights that work with your set up, which are slim to few besides stock.

if your headlights are hazy and yellow there are DIY repairs to get the clear again instead of cutting and modifying which you are not comfortable doing.

oh by the way those headlights will be disappointing if you go ahead and decide to install them, they will not meet the output what you currently have at all and probably be worse. there is no sense in downgrading that much function for looks. sometimes the trade off is a wash like lowering a car, or upgrading rims, but this one is a no brainer. stay away, just my 4 cents.

That's the one thing i hate about selling online.

The returns, nobody reads a listing, sticking the seller with the return and losing money. Take responsibilities for your lack of reading.

If the headlight housing was designed for led the output might not be bad. It still won't be as good as his. A lot of times"upgrading" to led leads to less usable light.
