Recommendation for wideband?
Need a new wideband.
Anything, ANYTHING - that is not made by Innovate. I have an innovate lc-2 that i am ready to unload my rifle into and set on fire. Wired everything, tested, rewired, retested, tried a new sensor... no matter what, it just blinks “7.4” on the gauge. Cannot for the life of me figure out why, and at this point, i dont care. Its going in the trash with prejudice. It seems this brand is just super finicky and prone to problems.
Im done with this garbage. Anyone have a recommendation for a brand that isnt utter dogsht like this is? I need something that just works. It seems like its just a matter of preference but id like to get some opinions so i dont wind up spending another $200 on trash again.
EDIT: For those reading later down the road, the problem was fixed when I connected the LC-2 to my laptop. Im assuming the LC-2 needed a firmware update, which occurred upon hooking it up to the laptop - without the latest firmware, it probably wasnt able to communicate with the new sensor I had. If you have the “7.4” issue, try updating the firmware on the device by plugging your laptop up to it. Hope this helps for anyone else lurking for answers!

My AEM UEGO is 10 years old and still kicking. granted the LEDs have faded and I had to remove the cover/diffuser to see it but it still works.
If I were to buy another wideband for this car or another, I would go the DIY route through 14point7 or wide-band.com.

So I gave it one last try this morning by hooking my laptop up to it just to see what I might find. Nothing useful, really. However, miraculously, my LC2 all the sudden is working. I didnt change anything, so I have no idea why, but Im not going to argue with it.
Hoping it works long enough for me to tune with it, but we’ll see. Next up - 255lph fuel pump, 540cc injectors, and 4” intake!

Wish me luck with not popping my motor!
Pretty much my rationale for sticking with innovate, despite the endless headache stories. Seems to be working now so hopefully I can put it to use. Finished swapping fuel pump and injectors, just grinding up the battery tray to make it fit longitudinal. Just gotta sew everything back together with the 4” intake and turn the key! Hopefully will have it drivable by tomorrow.

Beating on it nonstop with city driving and I still managed 17 mpg in summer with AC running and idling a lot.
Automatics need load table adjusted, though, or tranny will shift slow and burn it up faster.

Good news is that 540s won't need too much adjustment. I ran 570s and 4" intake with no tune for years. It ran at full timing no matter what due to thinking it was low load lol. AFR was slightly lean, so it didn't hit mid 13s till up top, but it ran flawlessly.

So im totally new to tuning - would you reckon its safe to putt around to see what kind of AFRs come up? Should I let the car idle for a while so it adjust to the new setup? Kinda blanked on what exactly I should be doing next. I figure a drive to the gas station should be safe - any second opinions on what my immediate next step should be will be greatly appreciated.
Feels great to FINALLY get this stuff installed. Hoping tomorrow I will have a rough tune done so the car is drivable before I get it really honed in.
EDIT: Im running 560cc injectors, not 540cc. Doubt thats any meaningful difference but figured Id correct myself just in case.

Anyways, i plan on dynoing it later down the road. First things first though, gotta get her in drivable condition. I dont think its possible for me to hit 300/300 with my setup, since i dont have a means of utilizing the variable valve timing or w/e tf these “HR” motors have that the earlier ones dont, other than the more flow-y heads. My end goal is to be able to keep pace with my friend’s stock 370z. We lined up the other night (in mexico, obviously) and I was able to hang initially, but he easily walked on me at the higher RPMs. Im hoping this last wave of mods will be enough to close the gap. I think thats admirable enough for a sedan thats nearly 20 years old.
Will be spending most of tomorrow playing with the car though! I really cannot wait til I can really feel what this car is capable of!
Look at it this way:
300/300 with our cars (mine weighs 3k lbs) is a 0.1 power to weight ratio. The widely accepted as fastest sedan ever produced, 469 hp 2006 E55 AMG Mercedes with the blown M113 V8 at 4k lbs is a 0.12 ratio.
Let that sink in.
Edit: Make that the 2003-2009 W211 E Class generation E55, not just 2006.

What are you tuning with? safc or flashing the stock ecm?
I would like to do my own tuning but don't know what would work or if it's even possible. So far I've settled on just using an afc and vq37 injectors.
Those supercharged e55s are no joke. Friend had one back in 04. We embarrassed an 03 cobra with 3 people in the car.

Going to adjust some settings and take her out for the first spin in a little while today. Ill see if I can fire up NDS2 and have my wideband communicate with it, certainly will make my logging infinitely easier.
EDIT: Continuing this discussion in this thread below, since this one doesnt have anything to do with what Im discussing now.
