Crankshaft Position Sensor Connector Stuck

[SOLVED]

[PROBLEM]
So I try to remove the connector on my bell housing crankshaft position sensor on my parts car and it was a huge pain. The middle of the connector wouldn't slide down into the connector all the way for it to disconnect. Took about 10 minutes of screwing with it to get it to finally release.

When I went to remove the crankshaft position sensor on my daily driver, though, I'm having the same problem, but it won't disconnect no matter what I do. The green part in the middle of the connector that pushes down to release the connection won't go down all the way and release. It gets really close, but won't release.

I've never had this problem with the other connectors like this on the car.

Is there a trick to getting these things to release when they aren't going down all the way?

[SOLUTION]
I sprayed brake cleaner into the connector and knocked it against the frame a few more times, wiggled the connector, then pushed it in and out a few more times and it finally released.
