2K 5 speed in limp mode but no codes
While driving home on the freeway yesterday, my car went into limp mode (fuel cut at 2500rpm) and the CEL came on. Fortunately I was able to pull off and exit safely and the moment I got home I pulled my OBD scanner to pull codes but I didn't get any (nothing stored in ECU)
I checked my FSM as well as the forums for limp mode related posts and there are several causes that I found. However without a code it's hard to track down what the problem is. Has anyone run into this particular issue? What troubleshooting steps should I take if I can't pull any codes?

In case anybody cares, turns out it was a bad MAF sensor. Diagnosed it using my OBD scan tool where in the MAF reading read 0.0 with the engine running. Bought a $20 MAF sensor on Amazon, slapped it in and limp mode was gone.
