K&N Filter ?

My new Max, should I change to a K&N [intake] filter ? Will I get improvments ?
Or I see some other intake set ups floating around, should I go with one of thoses. Thanks for help

The K&N filter is a good investment. K&N claims small power gains due to higher airflow, but even if those are not fully realized, you're getting an air filter which will not have to be replaced EVER...just cleaned every 50,000 miles. So, good investment and probable small power gains (1-4 hp).

As far as other filters/intakes...you just are going to have to do some searching and reading on this forum. There are several options. The highest power gain would be with the Place Racing Cold Air Intake which can be purchased from a variety of places (best deal usually found at http://www.avalonracing.net). A few members of this board have gone into business making us intakes (see http://www.berktuning.com or http://www.frakencar.com).

Use the SEARCH Luke, use the SEARCH.

The PRCAI, although the best power gain, does require cutting a 3" hole in your fender wall in the engine bay for the cold air feed. Oh yeah, and they haven't released this for the 2002 yet.

Other than that, I am not going to get involved in which intake is the best for power gains...everybody's got a different story. I would venture to say, most all will present very similar gains.

Come to think of it, Frankencar may have the only released intake for the 2002. ?
