Car kicked into limp mode

I've been posting here for a while but here are the specs; 2000 GLE, replaced alternator, starter, replaced one bad coil almost a year ago along with all the plugs, oil change at 10k km, k&n drop in filter and also oil filter. Messed around with the throttle body a little but it's coming back slowly, replaced the maf sensor but didn't notice improvement for long. Had the P0505 code but tricked the ecu into fixing it, right now I just have a small leak code, P1770. Have a Hitachi MAF on order, as well as a new VSS. Had the throttle cable tightened.

Anyway, today I had the car in park with the engine on for good hour and a half with the heater running, after which I noticed that my car was grumbling a bit. I thought maybe I burned a hole in the muffler or flex pipe by idling with the heat on for so long, no big deal. I take it on the highway and rip it for a little bit, go and fill up on gas, and as soon as I leave the gas station I notice the car is running sluggish. I had to literally floor it to pass a transport truck, when before I didn't need to. As I got close to home I saw the rpm needle would only go to 3k, despite the fact that the gas pedal was fully pressed. The rpms didn't go down after hitting 3k, they just stayed there as the car struggled to go past 30mph. Last time I thought I hit safe mode because the rpms would go to 3k but the car would stutter and the rpms would drop back down to 1k, but this time there's no buckling or jerking, just smoothly goes to 3k rpm and doesn't go over that.

No codes. So did my ****ty remanufactured blue streak maf go bad, did my vss finally crap out for good, or what is going on? It's not my transmission, I'm 98% sure because when I had the tranny flushed 15k km ago there was nothing in the filter, so by now I figured out it was the vehicle speed sensor that was causing transmission-like symptoms.

OH! Also, I have a feeling that if anything transmission related, it's probably the transmission mount (which I still haven't figured out if it's a separate part entirely or a motor mount) because my car vibrates a lot in reverse.

I really don't know anymore. It's one step forward two steps back when it comes to fixing or figuring things out. Does anyone have any ideas? I tried to be as thorough as possible.

It's definitely in limp mode, the rpms don't top 2500... could a failing cat converter throw it into limp mode? Out of all the parts of the exhaust I looked at under the car, the cat's probably in the worst condition. A muffler shop even said that at one point I'd have to cut and weld the thing off because it's so corroded.

I count six threads started by you just on the first page. You're all over the place here. Who the hell would have a clue where to start. Take it to a mechanic.

instead of counting how many threads I made, maybe just try and help? I mean that's way more productive than what you're doing, to both of us. On one side you've got yourself sharing potential knowledge, on the other side I'm trying to put it to use. What the hell does counting threads do?

Anyway I knocked it out of limp mode by going back to an old Maf sensor I had.

Was gonna say, you definitely had the classic symptoms of a bad MAF. Looks like you figured it out already.
