Motor Swap!

Swap!!! I’m new to the forum my 5.5 gen maxima has 224,xxx miles on her I’ve fixed the leaks too many time to remember. Time for another motor. Is it possible to HR swap to a 2010-2013 motor and tranny to my 5.5? I’ve seen people do it with manual trannys just not an automatic.

You can put your old trans, flexplate, and tc on the new motor.

what leaks do you keep having to fix?

I believe the 7th generation (09-14) maxima engine is the one you want. the one in the Altima isn't as powerful from what I have read, 270hp instead of 290hp...

sound like you would be better off simply replacing the engine with a lower mileage one or do a complete rebuild
engine swaps are a nightmare that will lead to all kinds of other issues with the ecu not knowing how to control other functions since it wasn't designed for your car
you put something more powerful in this thing you're going to blow up the transmission

great link
that being said putting that kind of money into a non-collectable car is silly imo
much better off buying a 6MT G35/G37 or a M45 or Q45, better platforms for builds

While the v36 chassis is way better/nicer on multiple levels, I had much more fun in my HR swapped i30 blowing the doors off 'better' cars than I did driving my modded 6MT HR G35s.

of course you did, no one was expecting it!
the rwd cars become useless in the up here in the snow while the maximas only need decent tires and you can use it all year
