I believe I have that problem. Whenever I turn my wheel right, I hear this noise coming from the engine bay, like a low strumming noise. Could this be the problem?

So are we suppose to fix this ourselves or take it to the dealership?

You'll hear clicking noises when you turn the wheel. Is that what you're experiencing?

Dealer fixes under warranty ONLY if they find the problem.

Not the clicking noise that was outlined, but the "clunking" noise that they talked about in the TSB. whenever I go over a bump or turn at low speeds. As for getting a dealer to reproduce the symptom, that's another story as we all know. They get deaf when they drive cars they have to fix for free. The dealer by my house was really good about fixing the fuel cut TSB w/o question. Hopefully this TSB will be the same. Not likely though.

The clunking noise may the lateral link. I had a similar problem.
It cost about $75 canadian(50$US) to fix. I called up Nissan Canada
to see if would be covered under warranty but they said nope!

I wonder how this will be affected if the 5th gen has aftermarket lowering springs? Will the dealer honor the TSB? Any experiences?

I think i have a problem similar to this...except mine is on the front left...when i turn the wheel all the way left and hit a bump in my driveway or somethin, i hear this terrible squeaking noise...only with the wheel fully turned to the left is when it does it tho.

I wonder if this could be the cause of the creaking noise I have been experiencing from the right front of my Max ever since I installed my springs Memorial day weekend??? It happens only when turning at low speeds. I know the TSB says 2000's but...hmmmm.

I have a 2003 and it does the same thing. It makes the clunking rubbing sound at the same bump and turn in my parkade everytime. Once in a while i can get the car to make the sound somewhere else, but never when i'm at the dealership.

i had a popping/clunking noise when i turned lock to lock so i took it in and they replaced my right front strut under warranty. about 2 weeks later the left front began doing the same thing. i took it in again and they replaced it as well. then i bought gr-2 so i wouldnt have to deal with it anymore.
