Maxima 5th Gen new owner?

HI. After owning all versions of the Toyota Camry up to 2002 in the UK, I am considering a 2002 Maxima SE. I have enjoyed the ownership of my V6 Camrys. Problem in the UK is that there is an import gap between 2004 and the new Hybrid Camry. This is well beyond my budget and will be for quite a few years. I am wondering if anyone in the US has had a similar journey and could advise me whether Maxima is the way to go. Thanking in anticipation. Happy New Year from The UK.

Absolute deal breaker would be a rotted lower radiator support. Check carefully.
