2001 Maxima

I have a 2001 Maxima I bought that the key was lost. I am planning on using the engine for another car. Does anyone know how I can get it started bypass the security see if the engine runs. I dont want to pull it and put in engine bad. I dont care if I can drive it I just want to see if it will start and run.

Thanks

dam, they got you with the old " lost key" routine 😒....

best bet now is to do a compression check.. VQ30DE-K's are suppose to be pretty reliable unlike the oil burning early VQ35DE's.... although mine is about to hit 330,000 miles and I doubt the knock I've been hearing for months is a rod.

You can't bypass it. A key has to be programmed to the ECU. What is the other car?
