2000 Nissan Maxima M/T Gauge Cluster into 2001 Nissan Maxima SE M/T?

Hey everyone,
I have not logged on in years. I recently bought a 2001 Nissan Maxima SE M/T with a variety of issues.
1. Bad/unstable idle.
----Solution: Bought a used throttle body form a salvage yard for $20, fixed the rough idle.
2. Gauge Cluster not working, sppedometer, odometer, fuel, temp., and mileage "ALL are NOT working."
----Attempted Solution: Bought VSS sensor from
VSS from RockAuto https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...=10634&jsn=850
but my 2001 Maxima M/T does NOT have an old VSS sensor. The location where it should mount into has a cover/plate.
So, I went to the salvage yard today, picked up a gauge cluster from a 2000 Maxima M/T and would like to know if I can use that cluster in my 2001 Maxima SE M/T?
Attached are a few pics of the Maxima at the salvage yard.
Note: the 2000 Maxima has a different throttle body than my 2001. Reason unknown.....
Can anyone answer these questions for me please?

This is from the 2000 Maxima at salvage yard.

This is from 2000 Maxima at salvvge yard.

Throttle Body from 2000 Maxima at salvage yard, I'm not going to use this. Just wondering why this has this part on throttle body unlike my 2001 throttle body. I circled the difference in both throttle bodies in red. Can someone explain what this is and will the gauge cluster from this 2000 Maxima work in my 2001 with having this type of throttle body?

This is the type of throttle body in my 2001 Maxima has, NOT like the 2000.

This is the Gauge Cluster I pulled from the 2000.

The 2000 at the junkyard is an early production car. The 2000 model was built to 2 different pollution standards, the more lenient Federal standards and the more strict California standards. All 2001 models were essentially California standard as the Federal standard was upgraded for 2001 cars. All 2000 models had an EGR valve, 2001 did not.

The piece on the throttle body is called a dashpot.. It operates on engine vacuum. When the engine vacuum is normal, the dashpot plunger is pulled in. If the engine vacuum becomes too low at idle, the dashpot plunger will extend out and contact a tab on the throttle lever and open the throttle body a little bit to prevent the engine from dying. You can probably use the 2000 throttle body on the 2001, just remove the dashpot and plug the vacuum opening in the throttle body.

The instrument cluster from the 2000 would work in the 2001, but the 2001 cluster has a trunk not closed light that is not in the 2000 cluster, so you lose that one warning light.

Thanks for the great response "@DennisMik," it's very much appreciated.
I'm going to try and install the replacement cluster either Wednesday the 22nd or Wednesday March 1st and update the post with the outcome.
Fingers crossed that the Maxima will slowly start getting some new life back in her.
I bought it for $1200, unfortunately it does have visible rust. I might cover it up with some sort of cheap fender flares. (Any tips would be nice)
I did replace the Back-Up Switch/Reverse Sensor and bought exhaust parts.
I added some more pictures of what I'm working with.
Slowly I'll try to revive it.
Wish me luck.

This is some of the rust I'm talking about. How can I cover this up on a budget?

Old brittle Back-Up Switch

Old rusty exhaust

New Back-Up Switch

New exhaust mid-section

New Catalytic Converter, hopefully this works good.

New over the axle exhast/muffler pipe.

New Twin Loop Muffler

Any thoughts on this low-budget project?
