Repair or replace my 2002 Maxima?

I can get this fixed in Mexico for about $3K labor. Would it be better to get another Maxima and transfer the 2019 engine, rebuilt transmission, ECU and Android Auto system? Photos attached.

I can locate about FIFTY of these cars in salvage yards. What parts will I need to get at the salvage yard if I have the Mexican body shop fix it?

The prosecutor is going to order restitution for the drunk driver that creamed my parked car.

That sucks, I would look for another car or if you really want to stay with the 5th Gen, a straight donor shell. FYI don't settle for the initial insurance offer; they will try to lowball you. Be patient and submit evidence of recent maintenance/repairs and 3-5 local 5th Gen listings that are for sale to your insurance.

I'm not wasting time with an insurance company. I don't have a business relationship her insurance and I don't have collision coverage with mine. I'm working with the prosecutor to order restitution as a condition of probation if she wishes to avoid a criminal record. She is a registered pharmacist and I will garnish her wages if need be. A local body shop did an estimate that amounts to $6,600.

I would definitely get another car. The lack of rear door gap is really the nail in the coffin. Yeah it can be fixed but will your rear window and door seal right, long term? Is your rear strut tower aligned perfectly? Will the rear beam line up correctly? A body shop isn't going to make sure you can get an alignment in-spec before they hand you the keys.

Well said, that's exactly what the body shop did with my 97 SE, held it for a month and just wanted to collect insurance payment. The rear beam was damaged and they refused to get it right. Had to source it and replace it myself.

What is the rear beam? If I have the Mexican body shop do it, I will have to supervise the repair, but it will likely cost in the $2K to $2.5K range.
