Left 14.8310 at 94.59 mph with 2.3742 60ft and .6042 reaction
Right 14.8876 at 93.96 mph and 2.3311 60ft, .6346 reaction

My clutch started acting bad...so some runs were 15.1s and one 20! It slipped bad on that run.

No adjustments were done to the car, still ran 34-36 psi front and 32 rear....!

 

russ...you need to learn how to launch your car....your fastest E.T. was with almost a 2.4 60-foot...

$15???? some of the guys here are telling me it's $50 to run at the pomona speedway.

 

Russ..if you got your 60-foot time down to around 2.20 you'd be running 14.6s BONE STOCK....now that's impressive...

Russ, Hey Im out in London on business for the next week right now, but I wanted to know how you got a 14.80 on the left receipt but still had your opponent beat you with a 15.5 or something? What happen? Did you Disqualify yourself?

He was bracket racing. They dialed in their E/Ts, that's why 14.80 is written on his car. The slower car got the head start, and had an excellent reaction time--.5132!. That's how the slower car won. Russ had a faster quarter and he was closer to his dial-in, but his RT was about .11 slower.

That left receipt was bracket racing, and I got beat barely. I was catching up quick, but when we passed the line I was still only a bumper behind him. The let him take off first, then after a sec my light starts to go and I have to do catch up.

Hey Russ - I think the massive weight reduction achieved by taking off the 1000's of gadjets/gizmos/bells&whistles you'd installed inside your car, did it!

Congrats though, that's a great time! Are you having second thoughts about keeping the Max? At least you can mod the heck out of it now (SC, NOS?) and not worry about the warranty.....

 

2nd thoughts have crossed my mind, but I would have to put some good money into the car to fix it. It needs its front end looked at and fixed, new tires, new clutch (slipping now), who knows what else.

 

great opp to get an ACT clutch, Nitto's or Kumhos, fix the front end and maybe get new springs/struts at the same time. Then you could get a Y-pipe (used or whenever warpspeed comes out with one, to save some money) and some kind of intake (K&N panel plus OSCAI for $60 total and it's very close ot the gains of a PRCAI) and you'd be a consistent low to mid 14 car easy. Keep it till 36K when the warranty runs out then sell it and get the 6 speed G35 or something like that. Your car looks very sharp as is - I mean if it was me I'd keep it. just my $.02......

 

however slower than my CAI and Y pipe run of 14.7

 

I think Russ would win in a race now between you two him being stock vs your 4th gen modded 4th gen. Russ is awesome!

 

Those are good times.. Do you have a 5 speed or auto.. and there are a lot faster 5th gens out there. I ran a 14.9 and that was my second time racing. You beat me, but there are a lot more that have SC and could kill most of our 5th gens (if your not running N2O)

 

The reason why it's a big deal is because his ride is stock.

Not stock 5th gens. I was stock when I just ran.....there are only a handful that have ran 14s stock.

Hmmm my hypothesis says that Russ would win NA vs NA for sure now! Maybe even NA vs 100shot from a dead stop 1/4mile. "Maybe" well that is proven already.

He could have easily hit mid 14's if he launch good.

Hell yea... I finally got the lanch down good on the Max to a point where I can actually get it to do good times, now to learn the Jetta when I get it.

 

i ran 14.7 April 2001 with trap speed of 94 mph and 2.1 60ft

i ran 14.9 Dec 2001 with a trap speed of 99 mph and 2.3 60ft

i have explained to you over and over again the reason for running the 14.9 but you seem to like to have fun with it.. so i give you that satifaction russ couldn't beat me if he had a C5 pushing him..

the point is.. russ hasn't beaten my NA time when i only had 2 mods.. and now i have more NA mods so Russ still isn't faster than i am

a Cold Air Intake and a Y Pipe is a heavily Modded 5spd? thats the funniest **** i have ever heard..

my game is in the club.. last time i checked.. i don't park my car in the club or have a list of my mods by the bar.. anyway .. as i said before.. Russ has no chance of beating me with or without nitrous.. roll or dead stop.. and that goes for EVERY MODDED NA 5spd 5th Gen on this board..

i had no rims, no high performance tires, my car was not lowered and i had cloth seats.. all i had was a Y PIPE and a CAI.. i only had the car for 6 months

russ wont' be mowing my lawn.. i don't like those types of partys.. you and russ can party on though.. what you guys do behind closed doors is your business..
