hmmm...i never knew that a 90 q45 had so much hp and tq, the 97-01 had less, anyways, are you a stick or auto? i think a stick should take it out, but it might be close if you have an auto. its also 700lbs heavier that you, so he's at a disadvantage there. is the q a front wheel or rear wheel drive? i have faith in the max though, you should beat him, but you might want to break your car in more, maybe a 1000 miles at least, thats just my opinion. good luck.

He was talking about highway racing, not the same as 1/4 mile racing. The 1st gen Q45s are highway demons, their top speed is greater than the top speed of a 2k2 maxima. Similar WHP, max has closer gearing, Q has RWD(Front wheels begin to drag after ~70mph). I dont have a single doubt that the 2k2 Maxima would own the Q on a drag strip, but on the highway id have to put my money on the Q.
Ive had 1 experience racing a Q on the highway, i saw a Q get on the highway, and i was going about 90, and so was he, he was far ahead of me, and the distance between us wasnt growing so i assume he was at similar speed, well i used teh distance between us to floor it and try to top off, i have a 2k auto so top off is 131mph. Well i when i passed him im going about 125, and by the time i reach 130, the Q flew by me. That thing went from 90 to like 140-150 in the time i went from 125-130.

hmmm...my brother used to drive a 94 Q45 and he used to burn some civics and maximas on the highway. Not too sure about 2002 Maxima SE. But from what I remember, those guys that my brother burned were bad drivers. I think you also need to be a good driver even with a Maxima SE to outperform. Same goes for the Q45.

Never attack someone unless you know who you attacking against. It seems like you really don't know who you attacking.
