after market wheel center cap issue

I ended up getting a new set of aftermarket wheels since the body shop that painted my car was taking way too long to paint my 350Z touring wheels and every other place I went to wanted way too much. only issue I'm having now is the center cap on the new wheels won't go on. the threads on the CV axle poke out a little too much and the same in the rear with the cap over the hub nut. has anyone else with aftermarket wheels had the same issue?

for the fronts I am thinking about cutting a few threads off the cv axle and for the rear i was thinking of either running with no hub nut cover or putting a mallet to it.

Any reason you wouldnt just run wheel spacers? Would solve your problem and has aesthetic appeal to boot.

the offset is perfect, no scraping in the rear like when I had the 350Z touring wheels.

so on the rear I ended up removing the dust cap from the hub. the bearing appears to be sealed so it should be fine.

on the front I cut all the outer threads past the CV axle nut, the nut still comes off and goes back on fine.

Cuts off cotter pin.

Better slap it and say, "It's not going anywhere."

never used a cotter pin. I just torqued them to 160 ft lbs with some thread lock and haven't had any issues in 12 years...
