ABS testing

New guy here. Please excuse ignorance. My early build 2002(07-2001) looks to have ABS issue. Does anyone know if the diagnostic test in the 2001 FSM works on 2002? Grounding pin 8 or pin 9(accidently) doesn't let the ABS lite go out or flash. Pin 8 which appears to be diagonally opposite of 9 on the connector diagram has about 8volts on it but hear nothing operate when grounded. Also,in trying to find out something before I found link to FSM. using VOM at sensor connectors have app 600 ohms toward each sensor and around 850 ohms back toward controller at LR RR RF but funky readings from that appear to be 5K ohm grd on one pin and 15Kohm grd on other from LF. Ring a bell for anyone? Thanks!

if your ABS light is on go have it scanned at Autozone, they will tell you right away what's wrong.

What ABS issue are you trying to resolve?

Thanks Nick. I have no speedo, no odo, abs lite on, and "TCS OFF" lite on.

Thanks sam. Neither Autozone or Advance in my area will scan for ABS.

dam that sucks. the AutoZone's out here will bring out the scanner and get all the codes. I've been considering getting a scanner that reads ABS codes but I rarely ever come across a car with ABS issues. I actually get more car A/C repair work than actual ABS issues. last car I fixed with an ABS issue was an Armada and flushing out the old brake fluid took care of that issue.

Thanks sam . I realy think the problem is in the module and/or controller because of that flaky reading on the one sensor different from the other three looking back toward module. If that doesn't ring a bell for someone think I'l JY the whole thing and flush everything out.

check the condition of all the wheel speed sensors. I would even remove them to clean any metal crud that might be stuck to them. wheel sensor issues and valves sticking inside the ABS module are the only issues I have ever seen when it comes to ABS.

my car is near 360,000 miles and ABS was only an issue when I first got in in 2012. after I flushed all the brake fluid I haven't had an issue since. what happened was the valves for the front brakes in the module would stick making only the back brakes work. when I would turn the car off it would go back to normal when restarted.

Thanks sam. I could get by without the ABS if the speedo worked. the sensors all meter good and brakes work good. I'd really like to know if that self test in the 2001 FSM works on 2002. If it does than the controller is the issue because the ABS lite never goes out or flashes. checked with one big regional JY today and they didn't even have one.

Update-apparently bad case of optical rectumitis during previous testing. did actually have voltage from controller at all sensors. all 3 voltages good into controller so JY'd the whole thing for 50 bucks(got lucky) and cleared up everything. Thanks everyone.
